OTHER WAYS TO HELP
If you are not in a position to adopt or foster a child, your help is still needed to help us provide for the safety and care of our children. YOU CAN...
Attend a monthly orientation for prospective community foster care/adoptive parents
- Orientations are held either the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 9 p.m. or the third Saturday of the month from 2 to 4:30 p.m. For more information about family orientation, contact S.E.A.R.C.H. Services at (813) 864-1435 or via email.
- At our orientation, learn about the unique aspects of our agency, meet the individuals you will be partnering with, and learn about the process of bringing hope to a child.
Become a part of Project SEARCH
- Learn how any group or organization can help a child find a family.
- Learn how this partnership can increase your organization’s exposure in the community as a good community citizen.
Invite an Ambassador from The Children’s Home to speak to your group
- Presentations are tailored to your specific time frames and meeting formats
- Individuals or a panel can provide insight and inspiration about children looking for a family and how you can help sponsor an event for foster/adoptive parents and their children
- Email or call (813) 864-1536 for more information
Host activities
- From one-night potluck dinners to Saturday outings, activity sponsorships are always welcome as a way to thank our “professional” parents
- Activities in the past have included a trip to the zoo, picnic at Fort DeSoto, bowling, skating, a pool party
- Email or call (813) 864-1524 for more information.
Display posters and brochures at your place of work or worship or include agency information in your next newsletter to help:
- Get the word out about the need for families
- Get accurate information about the process, the benefits, and the rewards
- Correct the misinformation that keeps families from coming forward to get involved
- Tell the success stories that often don’t get told
- Email or call (813) 864-1536 for more information.
Thank you for your support of The Children's Home!
