PROGRAMS & SERVICES

The Children's Home, Inc., is an accredited, community supported, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that has operated child and family-centered programs in the Tampa Bay area for 120 years. The Children’s Home strengthens communities through programs that support, serve and protect children and their families through a variety of programs that help nearly 13,000 children and adults each year.
Each year, our services help:
Strengthen Families for over 11,000 parents and children each year at four locations providing family support, outreach, and prevention services throughout the Tampa Bay area.  These families are voluntarily accessing services needed to help keep their families strong, such as learning to care for a new infant, install a car seat, learn English as a second language, search for job opportunities, etc.
Find & Support Forever Families for over 800 parents and children through therapeutic and traditional foster homes and kinship services. The Children’s Home recruits, trains, and licenses foster parents so that they are ready to receive a child in their home and supports relative caregivers (kinship families) who are caring for relative children with little support or resources to keep their families together.
Heal the Trauma of Abuse & Neglect for 100 children in residence annually at our healing campus located on Memorial Hwy. For the 50 children currently living on our campus, we provide trauma informed care with extensive attention in addressing children who have experienced chronic trauma and difficulties with attachment, affect regulation, disassociation, acting out behaviors, cognition, and self-esteem/self-concept. The children in residence at The Children’s Home are with us for approximately 9 to 10 months and are between the ages of 6 and 17.  They are learning how to set boundaries and goals and how to have a healthy relationship with loving adults.  In addition, we serve over 700 children and adults in our outpatient mental health program and community services.
